The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy

An amazing book. Fabulous style, humor and a plot that grasps you from the very first sentences. You read it while crossing the streets. Feel an urge to play old Sci-Fi games — like Master of Orion, Privateer, (even some Star Wars: Jedi Academy).
Some quotes I'd like to write down right now:
"I refuse to prove that I exist.", says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

'Well,' said Ford, 'if we're lucky it's just the Vogons come to throw us in to space.'
'And if we're unlucky?'
'If we're unlucky,' said Ford grimly, 'the captain might be serious in his threat that he's going to read us some of his poetry first...'
— If there's anything around here more important than my ego, I want it caught and shot now!
—Zaphod Beeblebrox

'Ah, take no notice,' said Zaphod, 'with half of the wealth of the former Galactic Empire stored on it somewhere it can afford to look frumpy.'
— No, don't bother to answer that, I'm fifty thousand times more intelligent then you, and even I don't know the answer. It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level.
—Marvin, the Paranoid Android

Trillian burst in through the door from her cabin.
'My white mice have escaped!' she said.
An expression of deep worry and concern failed to cross either of Zaphod' faces.

The book is so great, that even Google pays tribute to it. Try this Google query: "What is the answer to life the universe and everything?". Check the Google's answer :)

Note. People even celebrate The Towel Day on 25th of May.

Amazing book. Heavily recommended. 10 out of 10.
